Dinosaur Planet!

Stomp, crash, RRRAGH! Watch out everyone - the dinosaurs are on the prowl!

They're rampaging across the dusty earth, swishing their enormous tails and baring their fearsome teeth...

Let's explore the Dinosaur Planet! Imagine you're a palaeontologist (that's a scientist who studies bones and fossils). Dig deep and discover dazzling dinosaur facts.

We will be learning all about;

The Tyrannosaurus

The Brachiosaurus

The Micropachycephalosaurus

and The Doyouthinkhesawrus!.... Wait - Yes he did! ........RUNNNNNN!

In Spring B, our topic is all about Dinosaurs! We will be visiting a museum, looking closely at ancient fossils and studying reptiles to understand how dinosaurs may have lived and eventually died out. We’ll learn about the great fossil hunter, Mary Anning, and follow in her footsteps, studying dinosaur teeth and bones to find out what dinosaurs liked to eat.

Learning dinosaur names, creating puzzling riddles, writing fantastic fact files and creating exciting dinosaur stories are some of the other activities we’ll be involved in this half term. We’ll also use our artistic skills to make model dinosaurs and to design dinosaur landscapes.

To start our topic we are taking a trip to Liverpool World Museum to check out its Dinosaur exhibit.

PE

We will have PE on Wednesday and ThursdayWednesday is an outdoor session, your child may bring in leggings, tracksuit bottoms or jogging bottoms for this session if they wish. They can put their school sweatshirt ontop. This is weather dependent. Thursday is indoor so t-shirt, shorts and pumps are needed. This session is taught by a VARA sports coach. Please ensure ALL items of clothing that come off/on are named. They all look the same and to a 5 or 6 year old it is important that they know which is theirs.

Homework

Homework is given out every Thursday and will need to be completed and returned by the following Thursday. Homework will include opportunities to practise handwriting, phonics and problem solving skills!
