Year 4 - Maple 2020 - 2021
Welcome to Year 4 - Maple
This half term... Burps, bottoms and bile
Open wide – let’s take a look inside. We’re on a voyage of discovery to investigate the busy world inside your body. Do you have a toothy grin or a winning smile? Take dental impressions and test the effects of sugary substances on your pearly whites. Follow a tasty morsel as it makes its way through your digestive system, helped by some mouthwatering saliva. And don’t forget the importance of good hygiene at both ends. And whilst we’re talking business, could you recognise an animal just by its poo? Are you brave enough to take the challenge? Make a working model of the digestive system and use it to persuade others to eat healthily. Learn how to look after this marvellous belching, squelching, mixture making machine we call our body.

Your child will need to come dressed in a PE kit on Tuesday and Thursday. We will get outside as much as possible so please make sure your child will be warm enough.
Tuesday (indoor) Thursday (outdoor)
We expect your child to be reading most nights! We will be giving out leveled books from Oxford Reading Tree for them to read.
After every read (any book) with your child please fill in their reading journal.
The reading journal and book will need to be in school every day! This is so they can read in school.
Every Friday your child will be given a list of words to learn and an activity to complete. Every Wednesday spelling books will need to be brought back into school (earlier is fine) children will be tested on Wednesdays with a handwriting task. We will aim to practise them in school time but please practise them at home!
I will aim to give out homework every Friday- this may be a written piece, research or a task on one of the online apps.
