Science is everywhere! In our homes, around us, outside and at school. Through the teaching of Science at Sutton Green, we aim to stimulate your child’s curiosity in finding out why things happen in the way they do. We teach methods of enquiry and investigation to stimulate creative thought. Children learn to ask scientific questions and begin to appreciate the way science will affect their future on a personal, national, and global level.
Encourage your child whenever you can to explore the world around us, by observing and recording what they notice. We teach a wide range of topics in science throughout school, including plants and growing, space, electricity, adaption, different materials, changing states as well as a focus on a healthy lifestyle and keeping safe. The school website has plenty of information about what is being taught in school. For some fun activities try www.bbc.co.uk/bitesizescience.
