Plastics in the Ocean

Lesson: Geography

On Friday 8th June we had a whole school event where we wanted to 'FInd a solution to the Pollution.'

We collected plastic recycling over the whit holiday and brought it into school. We emptied the plastic onto our 'Astro Turf Ocean.' Year 2 pretended to swim in the ocean and discussed how it felt.

We sorted the plastics into groups. The children then worked in teams to make plastic sculptures.

The day was very busy, sorting, making and displaying our final product.

Take a look at our gallery to see the process and the final sculpture. We had a 'Whale of a time'

Thank you to everybody who brought plastic in.
